The Philippines is a founding member of the United Nations (UN), the WTO, the Southeast Asian Countries Association, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum and the East Asia Summit. In addition, it hosts the Asian Development Bank's headquarters. The Philippines is considered a growing marketplace and a newly industrialized nation.
